When Resident Evil first came out i was thrilled. I loved the mysteriousness of it. Ya know, the obviously ruined structure, asking you questions around every corner, the decayed bodies laying in the remains of what used to be a research facility for Bio Organic Weapons, which you eventually learn from the textbooks or diarys conveniently laying out for you to see. Solving somewhat tedious puzzles.
I miss the good ole days of RE. But Capcom officially announced Resident Evil 5 on July 20, 2005, a very long time before the suggested release date of March 13, 2009 in North America and Europe, for the PS3 and the 360... This is a pretty good thing because that means the bugs will be definitely worked out. The game producer Takeuchi said "the development team is composed of staff members who worked on the first Resident Evil.", and the game's former producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi stated "it's safe to say that Resident Evil 5 will naturally proceed from where Resident Evil 4 left off."
Well i like that the old staff will be working with it giving some of the flavor back with harder puzzles and scary adversaries. But, i didnt like RE4 because they didnt continue from the last games (ie virus became parasite). Dont get me wrong but the game was cool just didnt like the name Resident Evil on it. But the producer gives some promising words.
Producer Jun Takeuchi revealed the main playable character as Chris Redfield and the game takes place ten years after the events of the original Resident Evil. The story will explore Chris' life during the ten year interval between the two games. During the game's events, he is a member of a group known as BSAA, and sent to investigate an incident in a desert area that serves as the game's setting. Takeuchi also confirmed that a female character from the series, who is seen briefly at the end of the trailer, will appear in the game. In an online interview, Takeuchi revealed that the game's plot will be set in Africa, and will concern "the origins of the virus." He also stated one of the plot's key elements will revolve around the whereabouts of STARS and Redfield's life after the first Resident Evil game.
I am forward to playing this game...
