Halo 2 GLITCH!

I think this is new, I've never seen it anywhere before. I was beating Halo 2 for the hundredth time (It's actually paused right now) and on the level where you cross the lake to Regret, you know those Banshees that shoot you, and you cannot hijack them? Well, I shot the back of one as it passed me (Weak spot), and hit the elite's legs and he died and the Banshee fell (Yes, that's possible, I already knew that). The Banshee landed on my Gondola still intact. I quickly destroyed the other one with a plasma grenade and discovered that although I could flip the Banshee, I could not fly it. If this helps anyone else learn how to get inside one of those Banshees, cool. Post back any discoveries.

Tried everything, could not get inside the Banshee. I destroyed it. Currently continuing the level.
