Scratched Discs

Just got a 360 and the game I got with it now has a nice ring round it about 25mm in has anybody else had this. It now will not play. Not anything I have done I know how to handle cds and not to move players when a disc is running, I think it could be a console problem

any ideas

ideas as to what? how to get the cd? to play again, or what the problem is

the 360. did you play it for hours upon upon hours? if so that would be laser burn. if not a piece of plastic or anything could have went up into the disk for a split second and done that

yeah i have done that before because my mom bought a game for a system we didnt have once and there was only a damage return policy.

Might have problems returning it. I've been hassled for it before because you could have made a backup copy of it before returning it.

Thanks for replies.
Since I have posted this post I have visited other forums and It looks like its a common fault. Took it back to Argos this morning and told them it was faulty and they replaced the 360 console and my "Disc Call of Duty 2"

So just hope it does not happen again.

I once managed to get my extremely scratched starcraft disc working again by polishing it with toothpaste.
