It's free you just call the main Xbox place and they send you a box in about a week (for me) then you put your 360 in it and take it to ups or FedEx or whatever and then they fix it and then they send it back to you better than new.

Yeah, it was free. When you call you tell them you got the red rings, answer some questions like the number on the back of your xbox, etc. Then they send you a cardboard box with instructions on how to pacage the xbox into the box. FOllow the instructions, remove your harddrive, etc. Then send it back, they'll send you back a new one. As I said before it all took less then a week for me. They shipped mine by Purolator.

First of all the Red Ring is caused by the system getting to hot so you probably didn't have it in and open enough space.

The towel trick works but makes things worse, seeing as the system red rings cause it gets to hot and the chip melts, melting the chip more with a towel brings it to life for about a good 2 days at most then it dies for good.

Your best bet is to send it in to Microsoft and just forget about the towel trick.

lol, personaly, yeah, i move about 2 weeks ago, before that, had my xbox standing up, etc, now i had it laying down, less ventilation, whole nine yards, an sinc ei moved, froze 3 times, thn to my amazment today red rings, lol, thank god its free, dont have money to get it fixed, nedd to save every penny so i can get a high preformence laptop befrore school starts. lol
