I have a new chatbox with more features...

How many of you have heard of Xat? Probably a lot of you.
Simple chatboxes, but with many features that many people particularly enjoy.

I made one, just in case anyone wanted a new one.
It can be embed on to any web page.

For anyone who has never had the experience of using a Xat chatbox, there are promotions on the chatbox, in which your rank is represented by a color-coded pawn.

Guest (not a member on GameLair) = Green pawn

Member (obviously, a member on GameLair) = Blue pawn

Moderator = White pawn

Owner = Orange pawn

Moderators can kick and ban.

Owners can kick, ban from 1 hour to forever, activate $tealth mode (explained in the next paragraph), and delete previous posts (or comments, whatever you want to call them).

$tealth mode is a mode in which an owner can turn his pawn from orange to green, marking him as a guest. Spammers and trolls are more likely to do what they do best when there is seemingly no administrator around, which will allow us to catch more spammers and trolls.

In this chatbox, you can easily spam and be a troll, but you can also stop spammers and trolls much easilier.

Swear-word censor can be turned off by clicking on your name, in which you can also change your screenname (you will start with a random one when first on the chatbox), change your avatar, and change your home page.

There is also a wide, WIDE selection of smileys.

Yeah, I don't see the point of going to another site when we have a fully functioning chatbox built in to the site.

I said it could be embed on any page. Its only about the size of the current shoutbox, maybe a little larger.

The benefits are: More customizable, can change your screenname and cahtbox avatar, has many more smilies, and moderators & administrators have kicking/banning abilities.

This also reminds me about the chatbox Emarian set up after the hacking back in July. Only this one is much better.

Again, we should totally give it a shot.

I see this ending up the same way as the IRC that Eman made, a few people use it once or twice but it never gets used because nobody ever gets on at the same time. The difference is that Eman knew that when he made his. His was specifically for him and RT to chat while RT was at work, and in case the site gets closed down (like when it got hacked), people could still chat.

The Shoutbox might have shitty emoticons, but first of all, nobody gives a fuck about emoticons, and second of all, the sb is right here on the site, you don't have to go out of your way at all to get to it. I appreciate the effort, Beta, but this chatbox of yours is probably rarely ever going to be used.

I'm fairly sure that moderators can already kick and ban from our chatbox. And if not, I can't really think of any reason why if someone was bad enough to be banned from the shoutbox they wouldn't just be banned from the site.

Also, no offense, but your chatbox is ugly. Very ugly.

Beta, The chatbox fails. Yes, Its a nice thought but theres nothing wrong with the one we already have. Just visiting the page started to fk up my computer (Cause its so old, but thats besides the point). Everything is to big and too flashy. You don't need to embed it anywhere. WOW you can but why would you want to. The built in vBShout or what ever we use is fine. One last thing... Why would ANYONE go to another site for a GL shoutbox when there is already one on the main page!!

Offense taken. =) It is not ugly, but yes it is souped up. I like the classic shoutbox mostly because it IS a classic. You don't see too many of those anymore.
