Mod For a Day?

Can we incorporate a mod for a day thing? It usually happens on big forums and stuff. Like a person becomes a mod for the day and can do whatever they wish but there are certain rules they have to follow. Feedback please.

I don't think this would be a really good idea...with so many people who we really don't know, and plenty of people with grudges, it seems like something we'd have to implement far into the future.

I mean, MotM (member of the month) awards are recognition for an entire month; mod for a day is basically just silly powers for 1 day, and they'll only be on about 1-4 hours that day, too.

Meh.

What other major forums do this?

I think it's a good idea, for another forum

I think if someone here becomes a Mod for a day or something, than they would most likely muck up the whole forum....

Well there's a very low risk with that, it's just that it's so pointless...the awards are a much better system.

Although your right; if they only had power for 1 day, they'd want to use it to it's full extent

They'd me mod for 1-6 hours, really, as that is how long they'd be online.

Either of these things can happen for whoever gets it:

A) It's useless, they do nothing as mod.

B) Catastrophe, and they ban everyone they can, causing all the smods to unban everyone.

Meh i guess it's pointless, plus if we give it to a noob they'll probably roflpwn everyone they can, unless it was given to Senior Members and Advanced Users only.
