You just need to be good at it and your bones will stay in place. Athough i ride my bike and helmets and pads are gey. You dont need them if your good at riding a skateboard or bike. Plus helmets and pads will only protect you from scraping and will not protect you from a car. Thats my theory

With a skateboard, it's about whether or not you are willing to risk breaking your leg several times to master a specific move (People breaking bones on funny video sites skateboarding, anyone?) Whereas, on my dirtbike, It's about skill and time. Not about how much pain you are willing to take to learn something. And pads won't protect you from a faceplant after grinding a 10 foot rail.
