Spiderman 3 (ps3 and 360) [Review]

Hey all.

I thought i just Review Spiderman 3, because it's basically my only PS3 game, and man do i hate it

The 360 version is the same as ps3.

The Good:
Kinda fun to swing round entire Manhattan. Some fun fighting cause of slow motion.

The Bad:
The graphics is a mix between some good, next gen graphics and HORRIBLE previous generation. Camera controls is horrible. Fighting can really get boring.
And HORRIBLE mini games, and voice acting. The movies look terrible, and al lthe graphicall objects with fairly good graphic is added on top of the sucky graphic ( like floating water )

The Graphics

The Graphics is a mix between previous gen and next gen. The movies and all that stuff looks terrible, i guess this is a fast produced product and they didn't care to make the effort of making new movies, so they used the movies from the GC/ps2/xbox version of the game.
The best graphic you see in game is inside buildings, where for example a light is reflecting on objects, this is good enough. The rest of the graphics is not good. Water graphics is ok, but when you jump in water you don't see any waves, and no moving water, so it looks stupid.
There is no smoothness in the objects around the city, they are all just added on eachother with no thoughts i nhow it looks.

Story
The story is almost the same as the movie, you get to play some of the same happenings, plus a variety of spiderman comics. Like Lizard man and some bombing stuff.
I kinda liked the candy girls. Because they looked cool when fighting in miniskirt and umbrellas. But the avalanche ( kind of a punk group ) Was horrible, they looked damm stupid and their voice acting was a laugh.
While we are on the voice acting, is even Tobey Maguire voice acting in this game? I'm just wondering because he does a terrible job!

Spiderman is back! and now with .... same graphics?

Also SPidermans stupid coments is like made for 10 year kids, and make you wanna stick some oranges in your ears and hit your head.
I guess the story is the best part of the game, because it's ok, nothing more then that, OK.

Gameplay

What can i say? It sucked. Some of the fighting was cool because of slow motion, but Spiderman is not smooth at all, he bumbes into object and kinda just bouncec away.
Good thing is As you swing around, you'll find open mission icons scattered throughout the city. Fortunately, you don't have to go hunting for them, as there is a city map that lets you target any mission icon available to you.
It is kinda fun to explore the city tough, but that can get pretty boring because it's not as detailed as it should be.
One of the more tedious, protracted boss fights pits you against a giant version of the Lizard, where you first have to toss him into a series of power generators using a clumsy spinning maneuver before you even get down to the dull business of beating him up.

As cool as some of Spider-Man's combat moves look, the fights are generally pretty lifeless, and the camera tends to make things frustrating.

With the horrible Gameplay and even worse Camera control the whole game kinda lacks out and is not fun to play, but annoying at some times.

The game is not Innovative at all, nothing new with it.

The best thing about the game is probably just to swing around town.

In the end, Spider-Man 3 has its moments. Swinging through New York is as fun as it's ever been, and some of the new action sequences are pretty cool. But for everything Spider-Man 3 does well, it does something else poorly. The camera and presentation issues, as well as the clumsy combat and horrible graphics, all conspire to drag the experience down significantly. Spider-Man 3 isn't without merit, but unless you're one of those diehard Spider-Man fans that can't get enough of the swinging superhero, there's probably not enough to Spider-Man 3 to make it worth your time.

I think it's here the failure is. To many platforms combined with a low budget and probably 6 month production time.

still tough this game sucks so much, it sells more then other good games, sadly this is how it is. Remember to read around the web for information before you buy a game.
I only got this because it was free. It was the choice between Spiderman3 and Resistance, and damm i should have picked Resistance.

Spiderman 2 > Spiderman 3 I suppose.

I really enjoyed the precursor to this game, and probably would have bought this game if it went down in price.
