Controls: The controls are great. The over the shoulder view and the laser pointer really advanced the horrible controls of the past resident evils. Going from a third person, to over the shoulder didn't dull down any thrill. As you may or may not know in the old games for some reason you couldn't see beyond a point when your character is looking in plain site, and you would run into a zombie. That was the key thrill and scare for the game at the time. Not to mention that horrible aiming system which was up, down, or straight forward and you could easily miss something right in front of you. Which gives it anything more then a incredible annoyance especially when your a trained special agent missing things with a shot gun standing right in front of you. The Over the over the shoulder view gets rid of all the annoyances and keeps the thrills. It is a bit strange and takes a while to get use to, but once you get it, its easily the best thing to happen to that game.
I give the controls a 10/10 for keeping the excitement, getting rid of the awful camera views and the way you control your character.

Gameplay:

In General: The game is great; the storyline is a bit cliche. Some crazy nut job trying to take over the whole world and you have to stop him by yourself. Only your not alone you get a useless girl named Ashely who dies from pretty much everything in one hit. Then there is the "Press the button on time or die" parts. Which thankfully, doesn't happen very often. There is of course the signature "You cant blow open the lock you have to solve a complex math equation puzzle" in there, but who doesn't love those? They aren't hard enough where it makes you want to quit, you will just sigh." The controls and gun choice really made it worth it's while and monsters don't really just come out of no where. It has a very good spooky factor the first time and maybe even the second time through. I give the general gameplay a 10/10.

Normal Mode: It is really just a mood to get you used to the game. Nothing challenging at all about it except for the obvious hard bosses and minor annoyances from the regenerating monsters. Your character can take a lot of damage and you never have ammo trouble so you can just kill kill kill. I give normal mode a 7/10. It has some challenges but nothing that will really slow you down.

Professional: Excitement on a platter. The game "Steps it up a notch; bam!" They cut off the amount of ammo you get, increase the monsters, increase their health, increase the damage you take, you get less money, Increase the monsters aggro and Intelligence, and never give you a chance to breath. Once you first enter the town in the game you will instantly know what I'm talking about. You can't stand still anymore but have to run around and for your life. Once you think you get a break they keep throwing and throwing things at you.
I give Pro mode a 9/10 because it is a challenge and certain parts are just too annoying to deal with. Get too sick of a boss you can just rocket launch them XD.

Sound: The sound is great; leon's cheesy lines like "Way!" really spice it up in the gayness factor so I give it a 10/10

Graphics: Spooky and great except for the same looking bad guys over and over again. 9/10 there are some parts that could use some work.

Replay Value: You don't just start over with crap you can actually get the god weapons the second or third time around just making the game your bitch. You also get to know what is going to happen so you can prepare for it and cause a holocaust of Gon Gados. Replay value is a 9/10, the god weapons make the game fun for 5 minutes.

Over all I rate RE4 a 9/10.

Resident Evil 4 was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too easy compared to its 3 predecessors.

anyways re4 is one of my favorite games

I thought it was a good game with a few things that annoyed me though

Like the cheesiness of some of the lines and that conversation with Krauser late on in the game where he starts chatting crap about politics for no reason

T'was a very fun game though, cockney merchant FTW

Mercenaries is fun but I was talking about the General game and it was for Gamecube. I haven't played it for any other consul.
