There are a couple common mistakes in grammar that just irk the hell out of me, and I don't really know why. Anyway...

Their, There, They're

• Their is used when one is referring to a group of people possessing something. For example, "They forgot their coats." Remember, when referring to one person, use his or her. For example, "Someone forgot his or her coat." Not "Someone forgot their coat."
• There is used when one is indicating a place. For example, "There is a dog. Look, it's running toward that cat over there. Now it's eating the cat. Now it's hacking up a fur ball over there."
• They're is a contraction of they are. I see it used very little because people often mistakenly use their instead. For example, "They're aliens. Don't trust them, or they'll dissect you."

Your, You're

• Your is used when indicating ownership. For example, "This is your bomb. Take it back."
• You're is a contraction of you are, and indicates that you are something... For example, "You're the most stuck-up, disgusting, vile thing that I have ever come within twelve hundred miles of while wearing clown shoes."

yeah but when its done all the bloody time it gives the impression that the people are either....
a) stupid
b) too rude to give a stuff
c) not interested in properly exercising one of the few things that separates us from the beasts.

Dont get me wrong, I dont mind the occasional slip-up now and again....in a rush typing and stuff or tired.......but when its all the time? and worse, you tell some people and they're all like "oh thats nice" and then dont change their poor grammer.

oh...once again Halcyon...sorry for again typing your name wrong....my head says Halcyon but my fingers type Halycon...pfft go figure. Will try to get it right in the future
