I have the t-shirt "i pwn nOObs" and i wore it to my hischool and i got a few laughs out of n00bs asking wtf a n00b was. but then i also got some n00bs sayin gcrap like "pone??" so i quickly told em that its said "own"; that it just a typo that stuck. but those noobs wouldnt listen. they kept on saying that IM the n00b and that they pwned my ass. anyone got any idea how to convince those r-tards?

PS i dont realy care too much but when you ware the shirt and you get it 20 time a day it gets preaty annoying.

And actually, most people say pown instead of own.

no, it is pronounced pone...tehy even had a little segment about it on AOTS

and also in The 2006 South Park episode, Make Love, Not Warcraft, the word is pronounced [poʊn] (pone), rhyming with "own".

From ur gl stats i wouldve thought somone like you wasnt n00b enough to beleive the stuff on south park...we all know they were making fun of wowheads and junk.

I don't think there really is a correct way to say pwn. Different people have different opinions. Unless Chuck Norris pronounces it "pown" Not EVERYONE will agree on one thing...Well, most likely at least haha.

Meh. I remember in 7th grade, these noobs were arguing about the pronunciation, lol, and they asked me.

I said "poned" at the time, because NO ONE said "owned"...and like I said, you got it from pure pwnage, so don't act like you "knew" it yourself.

And anyway...back then the "hardcore" said "p0oned".

Psh. There is no "hardcore" anymore.

Gaming has gotten too popular nowadays, seriously. Now anyone who's ever played Halo says "poned", "owned", or something of the like.

"noob"...that annoys me when non-gamers take such a word from me, lol. Sure, it's used for other things, but when they refer to it in a gaming vernacular, it pisses me off, lol.
