Well, I'm going to put this as calmly as possible.

A computer that belonged to me got broken, so I sent it back for the warranty. BestBuy decided to just give me my money back, otherwise known as a "Junkout" warranty.

The computer cost me about 1400$ and had a Geforce 8800 Ultra, an AMD Quad, liquid cooling, 400$ motherboard, 4gb RAM, and so forth. It was an EXTREMELY powerful CPU from when I was obsessed with gaming.

Anyways, me, Buster (Stepdad), and my mom went into BestBuy. I was expecting to walk out with two computers. I was looking at a 600$ desktop and a 800$ laptop.

Anyways, the manager came up to us and explained the specifics of the Junkout. Instead of refunding our original payment, they would give us how much the computer was now worth or a comparable replacement.

So, naturally, I asked how much it was worth.

I almost punched the guy in the mouth when he said two hundred and nineteen bucks. Buster, being the mediator that he is, asked that we see a comparable computer. The comparable computer:

A centrino. That should be enough for any knowledgeable user to laugh at. A CENTRINO. 256mb RAM, single core 2ghz intel processor, and an onboard Geforce 5700.

At this point, I just said "Fu*k you." and walked out and waited by the truck.

However, my stepdad stayed and later, he told me what happened. Anyways, I must first tell you some things about my family. My stepdad has A LOT of money, although my mother doesn't. He also likes to get his appliances from BestBuy...such as our fridge, washer, dryer, flattop stove, microwave, HDTV, and so forth. We have bought all of this stuff within the last 8 months, and it totals up at about 9,000$. You can return any appliance within a year for a full refund.

My stepdad told me that he said that if we didn't get our money back or my computer repaired, that he was going to bring back each and every appliance that he bought from BestBuy, get his money back, and then rebuy the stuff at a Wal-Mart, Circuit City, or online.

The manager then decided to repair the computer. :bounceanddance:

^ See now that's called getting what you want when you deserve it.

I use to have an Xbox that I sent in THREE TIMES and each time it came back it wasn't fixed. My dad eventually got on the phone, asked for the manager, and demanded a new xbox. I got a new game too for our troubles.

That's what you can do with those people. Complain and they'll give in. The customer is always right.

I had the same thing happen to me with my 500gb Seagate HD. I ended up fixing it myself with a magnet.

And yeah, Buster is very useful sometimes. Once you get along with him too, he's a great guy. :bounceanddance:
