For, or against it?

More and more people are slipping between races, and I presume that it won't be too long before there are more mixed people than "pure" ones. I personally don't mind, I view as being against it as being racist. And there are plenty of hot black women out there, and spanish ones, and hispanic ones. o.o There are plenty of hot women of every race, and I have nothing against it.

Although not just beauty is a factor, it's also, do you want to do it? Most older people (Grandparents, parents) tend to be against it. If you fell in love with another race and married, they may never talk to you again.

So, are you for or against?

Personally, I'm completely for racial marriages. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to marry, if you both love each other yet are of different races. Love is larger than race differences and so should interracial marriage be.

I'm inbetween; it depends on how enveloped in the culture each partner is.

Simply put, if you are african-american and have been brought up with a certain attitude, and the person your marrying/in love with has a very different one, then it will usually not work out in the long term.

Go for it, but only if your two cultures are compatible.

defiantly for...in the words of bob marley, the color of your skin is no different than the color of your eyes, therefore if i have no problem with having a relationship with another "race" (w/e a race is, last time all checked we are all the same race...human)

and emarian is right...more and more people are doing this, and i predict that in the future there will be no such thing as other "races" we will all just be one tan color

I agree. Although my entire family is racist; thankfully, my mom never really said anything about other races until I was older and she thought I could "handle" it. (Like, I wouldn't repeat the word, I could understand the seriousness.) She started calling fat people fatasses, black people ******s, etc. o.o Never to their face, of course. I love my mom, and she rarely says stuff like this, only when they do something to her. Just about my entire family is like this.

But then again, what can you expect from a family whose roots are in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia?

yeah...it is true...there are more racist in the south...they always say dumbass remarks like "the south will rise again, huk!"

I forgot to type my second paragraph though..

Thankfully, because of the fact that she never said it until I was older, I grew up in an almost racism-free environment until I was about 13, and at that age, I was questioning almost every belief that I was taught by my parents. For example, God. I was questioning God, I just wasn't sure if he was real...I stayed in a transitionary period for almost 2 years..I questioned if black people were equal, etc. Thankfully, I chose the right answers, and I simply ignored my family whenever they talked about God/Racism.

I have certain limitations and standards to be honest, I will admit that I would think it is more odd for an African to date a Lebanese or something of the sort, but I myself am not a racist.

It's a matter of preference really, personally I don't mind it, but cultures can highly influence ones decision in marriage, example, muslim culture, you have to marry a muslim, not too sure about it in this age, but I'm quite sure that it's kind of spread out.

Also, look at the royal family in England, they all have this one disorder haemaphillia or something, which is passed down, due to the same race marrying the same race.

Bottom line, we should spread.

Agreed. Religion and culture can be a major disadvantage, but it seems that color is not considered to be one at all. Yay

Color seems to be quite a factor here.

The kids are in the craze of it though, going out with different races, which is totally cool.

My parents always ask when I go out, what nationalities my friends are.

I've asked my mom before, and she says as long as you love her.

My aunties and uncles have married Swedish people to Bosnian, so why shouldn't it be ok?

In America, we only had our civil war not too long ago, so SOME old families are racist...not very many though, as in every country.
