Is it possible to install Linux on a Mac?

possibly, however this may make you think about getting linux on your PC

1 pc's are cheaper than macs, by a very very long way, especially if you buy it without a OS pre-installed.

2, mac is 60% BSD based, (BSD was itself based on unix, which is also where linux was intended to be based on)

3, linux is in most cases free, which means that you will save yourself a LOT of money buying mainstream operating systems.

4, linux uses your hardware more fully, unlike both mac and windows (more so windows) it doesnt focus on fancy effects, it focuses on power and power alone, you can change this with certain distros and the inclusion of windows managers such as beryl.

5, you can get programs that run windows and mac applications while still on your linux OS.

since linux has incredible support for open source applications (and is itself open source) there is a massive library of applications for it, so the need for applications such as microsoft office decreases, but if you need the urge to use programs like that, just run it on one of the above programs.

however there is one major con for linux,

although it has made huge strides, in terms of ease-of-use for newcomes and general public, it has some way to go, it is very differant when compared to windows and mac, so it would be well worth looking through some information online first before using it

I agree with Gamefreak. Although the only real thing that requires some basic knowledge of computers is installing programs manually. That was a pain when I first started Linux.

Even though I do like the PC a lot more than the Mac.

The only real problem with PCs that I really don't like is all the retarded crap that Microsoft puts in Windows. (I mean, seriously, come on. Why make a Firewall if it can't block a bee?)

Um i will agree linux is g00d but no windows xp rapes,
And what i meant my hardware is because people use macs with like core 2 duos and they run like crap because the s*** OS drops the performance rate.

That depends on which kind of Core 2 Duo you get. The crappy ones are just that: crappy. But the good ones are excellent, very good for gaming.
