| escape this afterlife Admin | If your doing this for a virus then ONLY do this if emans virus cleanse fails!!!! http://www.gamelair.com/gameforums/t...tml#post105526 Okay so if you tried emans virus clean and got a message that says: "cannot delete process, it is being used by a person or another program." Then this will be the way to remove it. Download the program Processexplorer from this link Process Explorer and follow these: 1. Run the procexp.exe 2. In the program, from the top menu click 'Find', then 'Find Handle or Dll (CTRL+F)' 3. In the search window type: <the Filename found by kapersky or file you want deleted> 4. Click 'Search' 5. On the list, should appear a process, which has a type 'handle'. 6. Click on that process and in the main window of the Process Explorer, should appear the selected handle, right click on it and select 'Close Handle'. 7. Please take note of the Process where you found the handle. If this program found nothing then thats a good thing, that means the virus/file isn't currently running a process but you still have to do the next step. After that, from the windows Start menu, choose 'Run...', then type: cmd.exe Click OK A DOS console should be visible on the screen, follow these steps: 1. get to the folder in witch the virus/file is held: cd /d c:\<location of the folder the file is located> (I/E C:\documents and \setting\owner/desktop) 2. change attribute of the file by: attrib -s -h <the Filename of the file you sent> 3. Then type DEL <file name> If you have any questions please PM me. If you get a access denied then you need to talk to me, I will tell you how to get access.

| The Pirate King Admin | Very very nice tut. Did you make it? Btw, about the access denied error..you can use the CACLS command in CMD to fix that. I believe CACLS only works with NTFS formatted drives though..sorry, not sure. To fix access denied, take note of the directory that the file was in. Then, click start and run. Type CMD, and hit ok. Type: cacls "<*1>" /e /g <*2>:F Replace <*1> with the directory of the virus. Replace <*2> with your windows account name. (Administrator permissions required.) That should remove access denied.

| Lord Hokage Super Mod | Meh, I find that it's too much of a bother to "perm" delete something, the process is quite annoying as well. If I can't delete it, than so be it, it's not doing any harm xD | ||

| escape this afterlife Admin | Acually it is taking up your CPU resources and slowing your computer, just like spyware does. Although it aint running anything but a small command that it cant do.

![]() | not just cpu space, but hard disk space too. Means the hard drive has to page material more. If you take a hard disk as basically a disk, all the information isnt written in order, its jumbled all over. Any piece of information that doesnt lead anywhere means that the HD has to try locate additional places it might be. All this takes up time to do, and uses more RAM to store information which is of no use. Reformatting deletes everything, Defragging moves the information into an order which makes it easier and faster for the HD to read, and registry clearing deletes any randomly placed links which dont lead anywhere, such as shortcuts which dont exist and empty log files
