| Second Life Idiot. | | My friend...is an idiot.
His friend gave him 100,000 linden in second life, enough to buy an island.
An island is worth $1,600...USD...not linden.
Am I the only person who thinks, rather than buying the island, he should convert the linden into USD and make 1400-1600 bucks? Rather than wasting that moneyz to get an island in a videogame?
I used to play secondlife. Had a bad experience with it, got too caught up (Stole my parents credit card and put 300 bucks worth of linden on it, not joking), so im out of it now.
Also, he blocked me. LOL. I'm just trying to make him see REASON!

| Well yeah, Money vs Game money?
Lawl, of course he should convert the money to irl life money.
I guess I could make money on wow as well, I probably made 10000 gold that's worth 150$ But I used it for a epic set and a flying mount. Well well, I made them myself, and I wanted to have fun, and that's part of the game, to make money and buy stuff and have fun. But I never buy gold, that's silly.

| Yes, but Second Life is a game where you are SUPPOSED to make money IRL. It's an ecenomic game, many people play that game as their job.
One man 2 years ago earned enough to pay the mortgage on his house!

| It's actually quite cool. It's not all about that o.O it's an amazing sandbox game.
But, it's only really fun if you have connections with programmers (you can program to make stuff in the game like houses, vehicles, etc) or lots of money, lol.

| No, he knew, because I explained this to him and he said "i'll sell it after i've had my fun with it"...but in a game like that, prices aren't always going to be that high, so you have to sell AS SOON AS YOU GET AN ISLAND WITH THAT HIGH A PRICE.
XD.

| yeah he is a huge noob, if somebody gave me that i would convert it in an instant...
actually i would probably invest it in SL and make even more money
also it's not a game, lol...in the words of Dwight Schrute: Quote:
Dwight Schrute: Second Life is not a game. It is a multi-user, virtual environment. It doesn't have points, or scores, it doesn't have winners or losers.
Jim Halpert: Oh it has losers.
Dwight Schrute: I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then, my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my second life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly.

Also, he blocked me. LOL. I'm just trying to make him see REASON! | First of all, how stupid was his friend to actually give him 100,000 linden? Without a doubt, HE should have sold the linden to get USD. There's a smart idea there. And your friend has to remember that there is a monthly maintenance fee to maintain an island. Take the money, and run. |
