keygen = piece of software that generates a serial key for a game or piece of software

crack = piece of software to remove the need for serial keys and copyright prevention.

BOTH are illegal, as far as im aware im not allowed to post instructions of how to crack software, or other illegal matters

A keygen doesn't actually generate, it just pulls one from a list.
