Well I figured I started this so every week I will throw in a few licks that I think are fun.

Ill see how this one goes and if people like it I will continue it.

The key to playing this one is on "Clean" setting and letting all the notes ring.
Let the G# or the 6th fret on the D string ring until you play the D# or the 6th fret on the A string.

The speed doesn't really matter as long as you let it ring like I mentioned it will sounds kind of eerie.

Let the D string ring. Hit the note on the 5 E string and hold it then hit the 0 D string then after you hit the 0 D string, slide the 5 E string note to 4 E string then just continue in that order down.

Strum the chord (Emadd9).
Strum it relatively fast and just let it ring.

You can put them all together and have a kind of neat sounding riff. I will add more if people want more and I can play it for you on msn if you want.

Don't actually memorize the scales just their general shape.

My advice is to stay away from Drop D, unless you actually use it to your advantage when writing songs to do solo and lead guitar or just two having one play on the High D and the other on the low.

You could do a custom tuning like D A D A C F

So one plays on the lower and the other on the higher

Or just do easy chords.

I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar i play the drums ftw...

And i never could figure out how to read guitar music i have a Peavey Guitar

And a fender stratocaster

And its a waste cause i cant read music...

And i can play notes and all lol...
