Well, I'm going to point out the reasons that I'll never buy a Macintosh.

Let's go. Ok, the only real major problem with Macs is that they are only produced by Apple. That's a monopoly, and it's bad for the Macs. I was in BestBuy, looking at the MacAir. There was one with an Intel Duo (2GHZ) and 3GB RAM. How much? 1850$. I could get a Windows PC that has the same specs for about 500$. Laptop about 800$. Add on the fact that I can simply use OSx86 to install OS X Leopard on that Windows PC, and it is NOT worth the extra grand just to have an official Apple product.

I simply don't see the point in paying way-overpriced (And don't even try and tell me that Macs cost the same as PCs. You're a fool if you do..) for a computer when I can simply buy a PC, install whatever OS I want on it, including Mac, for half the price. Hell, I could buy an incredible gaming PC for 1850$ and set up a quadboot between XP, Vista, Mac OS X Leopard, and Ubuntu for that cost.

Add on the fact that Linux is WAY better than Macintosh will EVER be, Linux is far more secure, fast, powerful, and has WINE, and Mac-on-Linux AND Linux is free, and I see no point in giving up Linux.

Linux can run Windows and Mac programs natively. And NO, I DO NOT MEAN A VIRTUAL DESKTOP. FOR CHRISTS SAKE, QUIT MENTIONING VIRTUAL PCs. Wine and Mac-on-Linux REBUILD THE API OF THE OPERATING SYSTEM FROM THE GROUND UP, THUS RESULTING IN 100% SPEEDS. THE OS IS NOT EMULATED.

Mac does not have any games for ****, add on the fact that almost all Windows games can be run in Linux with WINE, add on the fact that a decent computer user can get Linux running on any computer, add on the fact that Linux is free, and anybody can get a PC that is far more secure and better than either Mac or Windows.


I am a LINUX user, and that will never change.

So quit telling me to buy a Mac and that Macs are better.

Because as long as LINUX is around, you're wrong.

Feels better now that a Mac user recognized my right to be happy with Linux.

Linux is moving in the right direction...Novell is starting to fund a campaign that uses a female actor as the Linux persona. She's beautiful, smart, funny, and can make both Mac and Windows look dorky at the same time with her advertising campaign.

Add on the fact that Dell, HP, and Compaq have promised the Linux campaign that they will push hardware vendors to release open-source Linux drivers along with their promise to place Linux computers (Namely Ubuntu) within their stores, along with the fact that I can honestly say that Linux is extremely easy to use, and I believe that Linux with a little help from Mac will one day end the reign of Windows.

One day it will not be Mac vs Windows, it will be Linux vs Mac.

Linux is very good, but the reason I don't use it is because that it doesn't have any programs for it. I wish there were, but there are not any around. Thats a downer for the linux community.

Plus, my mom wouldn't let me download it anyway, and I am satisfied with mac.

I do have a Macbook pro, but I'm more of a Windows guy. Well......I guess that makes me both.....eh whatever, point is, your turning me into a Linux user haha.

well, i don't completely hate macs, i have an open mind for all operating systems, and try to have a full understanding for all of them. although I do hate the mac head noobs who think macs are the best things that happened to mankind since the invention of the wheel. they just annoy me!.

but like i said, i like all operating systems for their differences, if i had to use one OS for the rest of my life...it would probably be Ubuntu, but i still respect all of the big OSs, and i try to learn as much as i can about all of them, so i can become a better PC tech.

P.S. @emarian: didn't you tell me you would buy a macbook and dual boot it with ubuntu on the phone ^_^?
