GF always says that he would use Linux more, but he can't get his wireless to work. Well, this laptop is running Ubuntu 8.04, and wireless is working perfectly. The hitch? It's a Broadcom 4311 Ethernet chipset. That's an infamous chipset, damn nearly impossible to get working correctly. But I finally suceeded by foregoing the Linux drivers and ndiswrapping the Windows version.  Sorry man..You know, we should work together sometime and see if we can't get yours to work...

LOL! sure, but its impossible to find the correct windows drivers for my card, (its embedded within a .exe file that automatically extracts to System32) and they dont support linux at all. however i have seen someone on linux forums being able to do it, but it never got going for me =/ (remember i would be trying to do this on a liveCD, since i am trying to avoid partitioning any further lol.... 6 partitions ftl) | |||||||||||
