Nice.

As soon as my ankle has healed and i can put weight on it me and a mate are joining the gym. I'm only inteested in upper body strength. I think it would look funny to have huge arms and everything else skinny, so i'm going for that look.

Well, being a girl I don't go for the whole 'MUSCLES **** YEAH' kinda attitude but I work out quite a lot. I do a lot of cardio instead.
Run - 5km
Row - 1km
Ski - 5km
Bike - 10km
and that's basically it. No weights or anything.

Weights will definitely help if you do it before cardio. Girls should really lift weights, they always think they'll end up looking like a female wrestler or something.

If you do too much cardio without weight training you'll be all soft and flabby. Because when you do cardio you actually burn a lot of muscle as energy. If you lift weights before, muscle loss is minimal.

The thing is though, I have super strong arms naturally and all the 'female' weights just take the piss. I don't like using the heavier ones because i'm scared i'll end up with arnie arms. DO NOT WANT.
Oh, and girls aren't meant to be rock solid. Soft and slender is best.

Well, it depends on your vitamin intake. Seeing as she is a really light person, maybe she should work out her muscles, even if she does a little light work. If you do not have any fat/calories to burn, then you're muscles will start to deteriorate.

Nah, there are very few people that can actually bench press 2 and half times their own body weight. It's just physically improbable. Im not saying it's not possible, but there are very, very few people that can bench twice their own weight.

You just proved my point. These guys are big, and all their size is muscle. The Big Show from WWE raw who is 485 pounds and 7'0'' is 100 or 200 some pounds heavier than most of the guys in the WSMC's, and he can't lift worth a **** compared to them.

No **** smart one, if you have MORE muscle, you're going to weigh more. The point is though, ti's not about how much you weigh altogether, if you're 400 pounds but it's all fat, it doesn't make one **** of a difference. Likewise, if you're 160 pounds, and all muscle, you're probably going to be stronger than the 400 pound guy.

Lol, I never go to the gym. I just sit at my computer like all day, go to school, so I get little exercise. I really should exercise more though.

Weight: 106lbs
Height: 5'1
Press ups: 15 per day
Other Exercise: P.E lesson on Friday, little bits of exercise at breaks and dinnertimes at school.

You're 5'1? I was 5'1 when I was 8.

Oh, and I was in the gym today and I did a few weights. Not free weights, but the other kind. Idk what they're called. I did 20 reps on the leg press at 100kg and did these curl things at 30lb for 20 I think. I'm not sure, you guys all seem to know your stuff if this is good

I blame my shortness on my lack of exercise and the fact I don't get enough calcium in my diet. I'm making improvements though.
