PSP vs DS

i would have to say psp because games look better plus movies are fairly cheap and look great and ds has a ____ty pin you use so ds for me.

Straight up what I think is this:
DS games = <3
PSP : Ok, but no <3
PSP - Its basically a mini gaming system, trying to be like a PS2, but hand-held with way more options. Game tend to be good, but not at the degree of the PS2.
DS - More of a hand-held system not trying to be like gamecube or wii. Its a hand-held, and Nintendo has a lot of background in Hand-held systems. I don't have one, but I play some quite often since a lot of my friends have them.

The way I see it is that the PSP would be great if you don't game as much, or perhaps you don't own high power systems (persay 360, PS3, Wii) while the DS is a simpler version of a hand-held, just casual, play anywhere kinda. Way more enjoyable if you have other systems.

well i have a DS, although tbh it doesnt get the use i hoped it would when i bought it.
the main problem is that the DS has alot of limitations. the main 2 noticable ones are graphics and stuttery game play (only really on a few games).
obviously the whole double screen thing is a masive plus point to the DS as it is origional and definatly fun and something the PSP can't contend with.
although DS still has a few high quality games like Sonic and Super Mario 64 DS. and because of that (the same reason i always choose nintendo) the DS is my favorite.

I only rly like the psp because when i got a ds, although they say the touch screens very durable, mine was so weak, it broke in the first few hours of me playin on it! And Im not exactly a big muscular strong guy! Psp has betta graphics, but the games seem to be getting worse

Dunno if this is what your looking for but here are some sales figures

Nintendo DS and DS lite: 53.64 million as of September 30, 2007

PlayStation 2: 117.89 million as of March 31, 2007

PlayStation Portable: 25.39 million as of March 31, 2007.

With those sales in mind consider release dates:
DS-first available in Japan December 2004
PS2-first available in Japan March 2000
PSP-first available in Japan December 2004

So that said... the DS has already sold half as many consoles as the PS2 which had a 4 year head start however the PS2 started off very shaky and prolly only sold around 12 million it's first 4 years so most of those sales are more recent. The DS is stomping the PSP more than doubling it's sales Which just goes to show you that marketing towards a younger crowd pays in VG industry

I should add to that though, that the PS2 is the best selling game console of all time still... by 2 million over the gameboy color.
