Pokemon pearl need help

My brother got the game Pokemon Pearl for DS. Well hes gotten to the 3rd badge and the gym leader isn't there. I haven't played the game yet so I don't know what to do either. Any ideas that I could possibly check out for him would be a lot of help.

if i am right u are harthrome city and at the ghost gym. Well right now just follow the route to the next town and continue the story cause right now the gym leader is to strong for u right now:

Umm if I am sure you need to make it to either a Pokemon center or something and talk to people. When you go back you should find the Gym leader?

Pokemon Centre is your best bet, BTW my friends are kind of nuts about this game so.

My friend had one DS with Pokemon Pearl.

He wanted to get other Pokemon from Diamond so he Whined and Complained till his dad bought him a brand new DS with Pokemon Diamond.

The irony is that he lives in Edmonton Housing (Low income housing here) and if he whines and complains his dad will just buy him it. That is how he is getting his new computer, drum set, and well whatever else he want's.

i think you have to beat 2 other gym leaders and make it to celestic town and go back to hearthome

you have to go and beat the gym that is all fighting types, then the one that is water in two other towns, then you can fight her or after the gyms you might have to go to celestic town, I can't remember if you go to celestic town before that gym or after but I'm pretty sure it's before
