PSP3: Look On The Brite Side

The PSP-3000 series (unofficially nicknamed the PSP Brite) is the third installment of the PlayStation Portable series, following the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation Portable Slim & Lite.

In comparison to the PSP-2000, the PSP-3000 has an improved LCD screen with an increased colour range, five times the contrast ratio, half the pixel response time to reduce ghosting and blurring effects, and anti-reflective technology to improve outdoor playability. The screen draws more current than the screen for the PSP-2000, initially causing a reduction in the console's battery life by "about 20 minutes" according to SCEA director of hardware marketing John Koller. However, he released a statement retracting this comment, saying that, "the screen of the new PSP draws a little more power" but he claims that, "our engineers in Japan worked to reduce the power consumption of the overall system including its components." It has an integrated microphone, the goal of which is to establish the PSP as "a viable communication device" according to Sony Europe boss David Reeves. PSP games will now be playable on interlaced (non-progressive scan) televisions via composite video cables. The start and select buttons have changed from semi-circles to ovals, with the home button being replaced by a "PS Button" similar to the PS3's Dualshock 3.

i never caught on to handhelds by sony, simply there too much trouble to carry around as i break everything lol. Like my replacement razor v3 which cost 300$

Dude, you got no idea of what you're talking about!

When I first turned it on, I was blinded by how bright the screen was (in a fully-lit room).

With this upgrade, Sony should finally give Nintendo a run in the portable arena.

The fact that any pair of headphones are now permitted for use and a built-in mic has now been equipped for Skype purposes, makes the PSP that much more worth purchasing for non-owners.

Also the fact that video output is now compatible with all non-HD Televisions, officially makes the PSP a formidable opponent against the Nintendo DS.
