hey all gonna hook my ps3 up to the internet.. i have a few questions on how i can do this.. my modem has USB connection.. i was just gonna hook my PC up to USB, and hook my ps3 right up to the modem.. will that work? i have to go buy a pretty long ethernet cable, gonna get that soon.. i dont really wanna hook up a router tho if i can avoid it.. | |||||||||||

Well first of all you need broadband to even play anything online. So if you don't have a decent/fast Internet connection there's no point trying. And yeah you need a ethernet cable. Not sure if you can connect through USB but pretty sure you can't.

yea i have road runner turbo.. its fast eheh, i download like 1.8MBPS from a strong site and i was basically asking if i can just hook the PS3 directly to the ethernet port on my cable modem. as of right now i have my PC running on USB, and 2 free Ethernet ports on the cable modem. | |||||||||||

K i got the PS3 internet working!.. wasnt working at first, but i fount out you cant have the PS3 and PC getting an IP address at the same time.. that is why they recommend a router :/ hehe So, i just disconnect my net from PC, and hook the PS3 up, works great. However, so far Gaming Online with PS3 is NOT that great! I was rather pissed when i found out you cant play Dynasty Warriors online with PS3.. like wtf, they have online rankings though.. wtf is that.. who cares online rankings... what about online play? like at least Co-Op Online.. lazy freaking company and coders.. lol I played Turok online, and that was ok, Not to many people are online playing at 3am tho.. i really need some good games to play online. | |||||||||||
