Too Many Reported Posts

Lately I've been getting many reported posts and I've never had this problem before. If these e-mails continue to flood my inbox I will start banning the people who are posting these "rude" or "indecent" posts.

I ask that all mods take this action into consideration because it would be best for our site.

I've been here at GL for over a year and a half now and I don't like where it is going.

same here i'll ban who ever spams again cause i am sick of people spamming the forum i delete about 10 spams a day

I call these "Hit and Run" spammers...

99.9% of the time, these people will post spam and never be seen again.

When spam is detected, delete the spam with "Permanent" option, a "Soft" delete only consumes room. If you choose to "Close" a thread and leave a response regarding it, within a few days, go back and "Permanently" delete it.

At one point I had commissioned a Mod. to do a "Forum Cleanup", this person will go through each Forum and "Permanently" delete any "Soft" deletes and any "Closed" threads.

Banning a spammer is the responsibility of the Admin. or Mod. who discovers the spam. It's a breach of site rules, so have no reservations in doing so.

Something I used to do...when I logged in: I would go through all the people that had logged in that day (the users not recognized as frequent users), clicked on their user name, then clicked "find all posts by...", if spam was detected, I deleted it and banned the user immediately.

I easily mark spam posts lol.
All you have to do is look for the word "Idiot".

In fact, I just marked a post in the Playstation forum.

Yha guys! I don't see the point of spamming! It's so easy to post the right kinda info in the right section! As for swearing it just blocks it out anyways!

people that put meaningless crap and people that put links when there (not) a active member there just come on put links and there never to be seen again

like manowar said "Hit and Run" spammers...

Just start temp banning people or get some more mods!
