Perhaps we could clean things up a bit.

Alright, I know I'm new and all, but there are some definite problems with the site that can easily be fixed.

I really think this site could be cleaned up making it easier to browse. There are some forums that could be made into subforums to make everything look better. I know this site must've taken some hard work to make but it's a tiny bit sloppy. This site could even do without a few of the forums. for example, The playsation, Nintendo, and xbox forums could all be made into subforums in a forum called Gaming company forums or something along those lines. We just need to clean them up so there's not so many forums overwhelming new people. Also, we could make a forum called "Gaming" and put online gaming, game help, computer gaming, and off topic gaming into it all as subforums. We could really cut down on the size of the index page but still have it all.

Believe me, An index completely loaded with forums looks very unorganized and unprofessional. I believe the forum makes it's first impression in the index.

Also, It'd be cool if we broke down the reviews into sections. for example, when you click reviews, it'd be nice if it asked you which console you want to read game reviews for. and if these forums are active enough, you could even brake it own by making subforums for each genre too.

Well, these are my suggestions. I don't know you, but these forums would be a lot nicer if these suggestions took effects. the forums would also look a lot more neat and easier to manage. I hope you like my suggestions because, believe me, I'll be back with more.

I think everything is fine as it is. It's not sloppy, it doesn't confuse anyone, and it's simple.

No, I'm not trying to be mean.

It really doesn't need a change.

They cleaned the place up awhile ago so I don't think we need to change right now >.>;

Plus if we did change some of us who are use to how it is now will have an annoying time finding things again lol

well thanks for the suggestions anyhow, GL always has room for improvement

we will take what you say into consideration, but i dont think personally much needs to be done, only perhaps a little bit of updating of the index for some proper news stories :P

On the contrary, I think his opinion is actually quite valuable as he's giving us an idea of what it's like to navigate the site for a new member.

I know I couldn't find anything at all when I first joined GameLair but now I've been here for a few months I can find my way around.

I'm basically saying that the forum can seem a tad confusing at first but you eventually get used to it

I would like to know what forums he is comparing the layout to though

you cant make a new section for every single console, thats sheer madness, 70% of them would never get posted in or get like 1 post a month, it would be a complete waste of time, its not exactly difficult to think "ah, N64 = Nintendo, so N64 questions would be in the Nintendo section" is it now?

its nice to see people are thinking about things like this, but if you create too many sections it will get uber confusing!

personally the only thing i can think of that the site's forums might need is a "search" box to search for threads.

How could you not find your way around? It's like any other site but way more manageable. You go to a forum you're interested in, you click on it, and you post. The User CP is in the top left and visible to everyone.

What's so confusing with the site as it is? I think it's the perfect blend of awesome and radical.

I don't agree. This is a gaming forum. I'd understand if it was not a gaming forum, but the title is Gamelair. The forum is devoted to gaming. Having each console packed as child forums in a single mother would kind of degrade the namesake.

I understand what you mean and it's a good idea. There's only one problem. What about the reviews that are cross platform?

Its a great idea but i think it is organized the way it is.

As E-Man said, it would ruin the name.

There is one problem with the suggestion. It would lag if everything was in subforums...

It's a good idea. It wouldn't matter to me if they changed things around but I can still find my way around.
