I enjoy them oh so much

well i've been to places like that plenty of times (like i said) but never an actual arcade

but i guess to answer the question i've probally spent around 50-100 bucks on just arcade games in an arcade-type-place

I used to be able to beat quite a few games back in the day. Not on the first time I ever played but after a while I could plug one quarter in and complete. It used to be fun to play a game and have a small crowd gather around to watch.

Dragon's Lair was one of those games, though I was better at Space Ace.

My uncle used to come to my town every so often and he was a bit of a video freak. He would plug down a couple of rolls of quarters onto the local Robotron game to dissuade others from playing and the two of us would play for a few hours. He was really good and I was no slouch myself.

I remember years later the local record store...yes record store....put the game in for four months. They would offer a free album (yes album!) for whomever could get the high score at the end of the month. I would waltz in on the last day of the month, plug my one quarter in there and obliterate the high score. A couple of times this one guy would be there having wasted a ton of money to get the score and kept it for most of the month and then I came in and squashed it. By the third month he just groaned when he saw me walk in.

Needless to say that they got rid of that game quick but the next one they sent in was Kung Fu Master, which I was equally adept at. Got the high score that month too. I couldn't figure out what album to get because the selections for free were pretty slim so I wound up getting one I had gotten previously. I stopped going back then, much to their relief I believe.

i loved arcade games, and i wish we had an arcade at my home town, too.

we had an awsome, i mean awsome arcade, really large too, but they took it down for a stupid restraunt! we all loved it, we all loved it!

we still do have arcades, but only in my local theater (3 games) and one in my local cici's pizza (8-10 games)........and one in a skating rink, which i never go to, because all of the arcade games are broke. LOL

I got a problem. Everytime I get the highest score on a game, whether it has one or not, it doesn't load all the way. It doesn't even show the loading bar at the bottom.

that really must suck all the way, man! it is like the fact that God seems to punish you for playing arcade games! guess He wants you to play next-gen games so that the current developers get more money! LMAO

Like I got over 18 on city jumper, beat the highscore on helicopter, and a couple more.

But it doesn't do it when I get like the second best score or lower.

Edit: I just beat that Parachute game (80) and it didn't calculate my score. I had only one miss.
