Icon2 The Legend of Ocarina Timeless

Ocarina of Time, is considered one of the greatest games of all time. It is ranked as the highest rated video game according to gamerankings.com, and has been for some time now.

Why is it that this game has endured for so long...

Is it the game design, its soundtrack, gameplay...??? Or is it that the central character and main protagonist of the Zelda series, "Link", is such an enigmatic and engaging figure....he's cool!

I have beaten this particular game several times. This game is really highly ranked in storyline and in gameplay. The problem solving is another great part to the game. Ive struggled playing this game as a young teen and believe the mystery of the game brings a feeling of grasping the story as it unfolds. Even though the graphics werent "perfect" it didnt really need em. Bossfights and regular fights were always great as you controlled the striking and movements and arsenal used to defeat each foe. I give it 10/10

I love this game, this game has the most depth out of any zelda game thus far (it comes close to A Link to the Past, and TP) but i still believe the story in this game is the basis for most zelda games (yes i know it didnt come first )

This game brings back incredible memories of being a little kid and whooping my dad at games. And him going through it constantly asking me for help with parts that i thought were completely simple, yet he was entirely stumped. Ahhh the good ole days.

This game was the DA BOMB although i still liked Majora's Mask more

It's alright... It's very... "Zelda" and I mean that in a bad way... Zelda games have always rubbed me the wrong way since after A Link to The Past, because that was my first.

The reason is that... it's very repetitive if you play through the series.. walk around... do a few puzzles then hit a boss and throw a bomb in it's mouth... or reflect back a boss thrown projectile with your sword... Meh come up with some new stuff.

It was a good game though... They just need mix it up a bit.

What!? You fought an arachnid (with slingshot and sword). Then a fire breathing dinosaur. Then a giant amoeba with lots of electric jellyfish as a shield (with a boomerang and weapon of choice). Nothing close to (first boss in zelda link to the past) 6 statues, (second boss) Lanmolas times 3, and (third boss) Moldorm. Dont say the series ruined it for you cause its repetitive.

YES! This game was my official "Favourite Game of all Time"....I enjoyed every aspect of it, but the one part that I hated, was the god forbidden WATER TEMPLE! That temple took me 5 plus months....to beat (until I got a walkthrough )

Otherwise all of it was cool.....did everyone get all the hearts, arrows, high scores, and bottles throughout the game?

Because I did

Walkthroughs, a great treasure bestowed upon gamers from the game gods.

Where would many of us be without them?

Some think walkthroughs and guides are the same as cheats, but they're not. They help gamers in great times of crisis, and lead us smoothly throughout rough passages.

Cheats on the other hand are quick fixes that can also be useful to unlock bonuses and extra features. Cheats have their proper place, but tend to be overly abused.

Indeed. It makes you learn through solving. Plus where would the fun be if you read a guide.

Let's examine this...

Technically, guides and walkthroughs have been around since the dawn of gaming itself...they're called instructions!

What are instructions?

Information that guides and walks you through what you're suppose to do.

You can actually have more fun, learn more, and experience more with an effectively well written guide or walkthrough.

The key is not to totally depend on a guide or walkthrough.
