SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Police say a 17-year-old man has been arrested after he made 400 prank calls to 9-1-1 in less than two weeks.

Authorities say Maurice Young of Boiling Springs would usually hang up if a male dispatcher answered. But if a woman answered, he would sometimes make sexually explicit comments before hanging up after less than a minute.

Police say Young was making the calls from a deactivated cell phone, so it was harder to trace.
Young is charged with unlawful use of 911, a misdemeanor that carries a maximum of six months in jail and a 200 dollar fine.
